Dr. Ivo Ferreira, ophthalmologist, with an office located at Dante 6, Colonia Anzures, Alcaldía Miguel Hidalgo, C.P. 11590, Mexico City, Mexico, is the data controller responsible for the processing of the personal data you provide, in accordance with the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), its Regulations, and the Privacy Notice Guidelines.

For the purposes described in this privacy notice, we may collect the following categories of personal data:
Identification and contact data
Full name, date of birth, address, email address, landline and/or mobile phone number.
Health data (sensitive personal data)
Ophthalmological clinical history, general medical background, results of studies and diagnostic tests, diagnoses, previous and current treatments, information about eye surgeries, medications in use, and any other health information necessary to provide appropriate medical care.
We inform you that health data is considered sensitive personal data under the LFPDPPP. Its processing requires your express consent, which is obtained at the time of the in-person consultation.
Purposes of data processing
Primary purposes (necessary)
- Provide ophthalmological medical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and clinical follow-up.
- Create and maintain the clinical record in accordance with NOM-004-SSA3-2012.
- Manage appointment and consultation scheduling.
- Contact the patient for postoperative follow-up or to communicate study results.
- Issue prescriptions, study orders, and necessary medical documentation.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations applicable to the practice of medicine in Mexico.
Secondary purposes (not necessary)
- Send information about services, news, or educational content related to visual health.
- Conduct satisfaction surveys regarding the care received.
- Statistical purposes and internal service improvement.
If you do not wish your data to be used for secondary purposes, you may notify us by sending an email to info@drivoferreira.com with the subject line “Secondary purposes.” Your refusal will not be grounds for denying medical services.
Transfer of personal data
Your personal data may be transferred to the following third parties without requiring your consent, in accordance with Article 37 of the LFPDPPP:
- Competent health authorities when required by current regulations.
- Laboratories, diagnostic imaging centers, or other healthcare professionals involved in your care, when necessary for your medical treatment.
Outside the aforementioned cases, no transfers of your personal data to third parties will be made without your prior consent.
ARCO rights
You have the right to Access your personal data in our possession, Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data, Cancel their processing when you consider they are no longer required for any of the stated purposes, or Oppose their processing for specific purposes (ARCO rights).

The data controller will respond to your request within a maximum period of 20 business days from its receipt. If the request is deemed valid, it will be fulfilled within the following 15 business days after the response is communicated.
